Following suit to tradition, the Woodland Elementary 3rd grade class visited the Andrews’ farm for the annual pheasant release day on Thursday, October 13th 2022. The students spent the afternoon learning all about pheasant and later had the opportunity to interact with the birds themselves by hand-releasing pheasants and chukars into the managed fields here at the Andrews farm.
Later on in the week, youth returned to the Andrews Farm for the Annual Youth Pheasant Hunt, where adult volunteers aided the children in flushing fields to have a successful hunt. Thirteen children between the ages of 12-15 attended the event on October 8th, 2022, and enjoyed a day full of upland hunting, outdoor camaraderie and education on bird-dog handling.
